As
a steady rain began falling around him, Mechanicsburg
Area High School baseball coach Clay McAllister took a
moment to reflect.
“It’s
really exciting,” McAllister, in his fourth year as
head coach, said following his team’s 9-4 win over
Lower Dauphin on a gray Wednesday afternoon that secured
Mechanicsburg its first Mid-Penn division title since
2003.
Russell
Woleslagle belted a three-run home run in the third
inning and Jake Burkholder was a triple shy of the cycle
in a 3-for-3 effort as Mechanicsburg knocked off Lower
Dauphin, 9-4, at Rickenbach-Shirley Field on Wednesday
in a Mid-Penn Keystone Division clash. Read

The
big picture: While last season's district loop was
brief, the 'Cats took an important step. And while it
won't get easier in the Quad-A ranks here, the 1-2 punch
of Anderson and Mentzer gives Mechanicsburg a solid set
of field generals. If there's a division dark horse,
here it is.

Trip Cut Short
The
MASH baseball team drove 7 hours to Durham, NC over the
past weekend and woke up to find cold weather &
heavy rain. After looking at the forecast for
Saturday & speaking the Sr's on the team, we cut our
losses and headed right back home on Friday to nice
weather.
We
were able to scrimmage Northern & Cedar Cliff over
the long weekend ~ both scrums were very
competitive. Game 1 ~ FRIDAY!
