         Patriot News preview

         MECHANICSBURG Wildcats

Coach: Clay McAllister. 2008 record: 10-11 (8-6 division, T-2nd).

The big picture: While last season's district loop was brief, the 'Cats took an important step. And while it won't get easier in the Quad-A ranks here, the 1-2 punch of Anderson and Mentzer gives Mechanicsburg a solid set of field generals. If there's a division dark horse, here it is.

Key players: Ben Anderson (sr CF), Ryan Mentzer (sr IF), Matt Koveleski (sr OF-RHP), Aaron Jones (sr RHP), Devon Hensel (sr OF), Jimmy Spanos (so C-IF), Noah Michaliszyn (sr IF).

          Carolina Trip Cut Short

The MASH baseball team drove 7 hours to Durham, NC over the past weekend and woke up to find cold weather & heavy rain.  After looking at the forecast for Saturday & speaking the Sr's on the team, we cut our losses and headed right back home on Friday to nice weather.

We were able to scrimmage Northern & Cedar Cliff over the long weekend ~ both scrums were very competitive.  Game 1 ~ FRIDAY!
